Dental Implants
Dental implants is a great option to replace missing teeth. In fact, it is the closest thing to natural teeth. Dental implants are designed to provide a foundation for replacement teeth that look, feel and function like natural teeth. It gives you the ability to eat virtually anything and can smile with confidence, knowing that teeth appear natural and that facial contours will be preserved. The implants are made of medical grade titanium which are placed into the jaw bone where teeth are missing. The bone grows around the implant, creating a strong foundation for artificial teeth. In addition, dental implants can help preserve facial structure, preventing the bone deterioration which occurs when teeth are missing.
Some people ask if getting an implant hurts, however, the discomfort is very minimal. Most patients report minimal to no discomfort the next day.
Dental implants are changing the way people live! With them, people are rediscovering the comfort and confidence to eat, speak, laugh and enjoy life.

Dental Implant Procedure
Dental implants procedure is very unique and very rewarding for the patient. After the intial evaluation by Dr. Sunny Pahouja, we will come up with a plan and steps from start to finish. This is a precise procedure, therefore, we follow the strict surgical guidelines to place the implant. Once the space where the tooth is missing is prepped, we take some check X-Rays. Then Dr. Sunny Pahouja verifies the fit and places the implant in the bone. At this time, he will place a healing cover over the implant. Then, we allow the bone to heal and grow around the implant for 3-6 months. During this time, the gum tissue also heals and conforms to the implant.
Some patients choose to wear a flipper which is also called a interim or temporary prothesis. This is usually the case where esthetics might be a concern.
After the implant has stabilized in the jaw bone, the second phase begins. We will uncover the implants and verify healing. Dr. Pahouja can then start making your new teeth. An impression is needed to get your crown over the implant. Phase 2 consists of 2 parts: Abutment and the Crown. Abutment is the part that connects your implant to the crown. The abutment and crown are then placed on the implant and you are ready to enjoy your new implant. The entire procedure usually takes six to eight months. Most patients do not experience any disruption in their daily life. Please give Dr. Sunny Pahouja a call at 513-661-8586 to schedule a consultation.
Implant Dentures
Implants can be done under dentures to give them better retention. This is usually the case on the lower denture. Most patients do not like wearing a lower denture because it moves around and the tongue keeps pushing on it. Dr. Sunny Pahouja at our Cincinnati office can talk to you about implants under a denture.
Implant Bridge
Another possibility with implants is doing a implant bridge. Let’s say you are missing 3 teeth. Instead of doing 3 implants, we may be able to do 2 Implants and do a bridge. This helps you save money and get a desirable result.
